The celebration includes a potluck of diverse foods prepared by Highlands University students. in Highlands University’s Student Center Ballroom, 800 National Ave. The African Chorus from UWC – USA is one of the featured performers at the free public event from 4 – 7 p.m. “She is passionate about reminding people about these Nigerian girls as well as other kidnapping and sex trafficking of girls that happens around the world.” “Chine Onuegbu is instrumental in Bring Back Our Girls, the international campaign for the girls that were kidnapped in from Chibok,” said Carmen Stone, UWC – USA community service coordinator. Her research focuses on social justice, information literacy, conflict studies, and environmental sustainability. Onuegbu, a Bartos Institute Fellow at the United World College – USA, will deliver the keynote address at Highlands University’s International Women’s Day Celebration. – Nigerian sociology scholar Chine Onuegbu will talk March 8 about the Nigerian girls from Chibok who were kidnapped in 2014 by the extremist group Boko Haram.
